In May 2019 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 2 meetings: no. 263, 264. During these meetings the Committee:
- pursuant to Art. 11(1) of the Cooperation Act, considered the information about the position the Council of Ministers intended to take with regard to draft EU legal acts during the following meetings:
- General Affairs Council, 21 May – COM(2016) 157, COM(2018) 171, 322, 340, 381 [mtg no. 263],
- Economic and Financial Affairs Council, 17 May – COM(2018) 334, 346, 349, 391 [mtg no. 263];
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
- report from the Commission: Annual Report on the implementation of the European Union's instruments for financing external actions in 2017 (COM(2019) 37) together with the Government position [mtg no. 263],
- communication from the Commission: Towards a more efficient and democratic decision making in EU tax policy (COM(2019) 8) together with the Government position [mtg no. 263],
- information on the position the Council of Ministers took while considering draft EU legal acts at the Agriculture and Fisheries Council on 14 May – COM(2016) 850, 851, 852, 854, COM(2017) 208, 793, 794, COM(2018) 317, 390, 392, 577 [mtg no. 264],
- the Council of Ministers' information on the Foreign Affairs Council (trade) meeting planned for 28 May 2019 [mtg no. 264],
- report from the Commission on implicit liabilities with potential impact on public budgets (COM(2019) 81) together with the Government position [mtg no. 264];
- according to the proposal of the Committee Bureau, didn't raise any comment to the following EU documents:
- pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act – to 8 EU draft legal acts including i.a. draft Council decision on the position to be taken on behalf of the European Union in the framework of the Convention for the Conservation of Salmon in the North Atlantic Ocean as regards the application for accession to that Convention submitted by the United Kingdom COM(2019) 184 and others: COM(2019) 167, 171, 172, 173, 181, 189, 194 [mtg no. 263],
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act – to 14 documents, including i.a. EC communications: Building Trust in Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence (COM(2019) 168), Third Annual Report on the Facility for Refugees in Turkey (COM(2019) 174) and others: COM(2019) 166, 169, 170, 176, 178, 179, 183, 188, 195, 224, 225, JOIN(2019) 6 [mtg no. 263];
- pursuant to Art. 18(4) of the Cooperation Act, considered the information on legislative work related to the implementation of European Union directives, for which the time limit for implementation has already expired or will expire within 3 months of the presentation of such information (as at 7 March 2019) [mtg no. 264];
- adopted the desideratum [no. 3] on accelerating the revitalisation of post-industrial spaces in mining areas, in which it sought the support of the Government in obtaining the financing from the EU Support Platform for Coal Regions [mtg no. 264];
- adopted an opinion intended for the State Audit Committee on the report on activities of the Supreme Audit Office in 2018 (paper no. 3366), in the scope of the SUE competence [mtg no. 264].
