EU DOCUMENTS IN THE SEJM

In February 2021 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 7 meetings, no. 47-54, via electronic means of distance communication. During these meetings the Committee:

  • pursuant to Art. 7(4) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council on guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure and repealing Regulation (EU) No 347/2013 (COM/2020/824) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 47],
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council establishing the Brexit Adjustment Reserve (COM/2020/854) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 52],
    • proposal for a directive of the EP and of the Council on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union, repealing Directive (EU) 2016/1148 (COM/2020/823) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 53],

  • pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • proposal for a Council decision on the conclusion, on behalf of the Union, of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part, and of the Agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning security procedures for exchanging and protecting classified information (COM/2020/856) together with the Government position [mtg no. 52],
  • pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • communication from the Commission: 2020 Communication on EU enlargement policy (COM/2020/660) together with the Government position [mtg no. 47],

    • proposal for a Council decision on the signing, on behalf of the Union, and on provisional application of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part, and of the Agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning security procedures for exchanging and protecting classified information (COM/2020/855) together with the Government position [mtg no. 52],

  • heard the information on financing regional policy in Poland from the European funds 2021-2027, submitted by the Minister of Finance, Funds and Regional Policy Tadeusz Kościński and Minister for EU Affairs Konrad Szymański [mtg no. 49],
  • heard the information presented by Janusz Wojciechowski, Agriculture Commissioner, on the Commission Work Programme for 2021: „A Union of vitality in a world of fragility" and on „A Farm to Fork Strategy for a fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly food system" [mtg no. 50],
  • together with the Foreign Affairs Committee held the following meetings [mtg no. 54]:
    • with the representative of the German Presidency, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Poland, Mr Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven, on the results of the German Presidency of the EU Council,
    • with the representative of the Portuguese Presidency, Amassador of the Portuguese Republic, Mr Luís Manuel Ribeiro Cabaço, on the programme of the Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council.
