In February 2023 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 3 meetings, no. 196-198. During these meetings the Committee:
- considered the information on the Annual report of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) on the performance of the EU budget in 2021, presented by Marek Opioła, ECA member [mtg no. 196],
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
- communication from the Commission: Annual Sustainable Growth Survey 2023 (COM(2022) 780) together with the Government position [mtg no. 197],
- communication from the Commission: Short-Term Energy Market Interventions and Long Term Improvements to the Electricity Market Design – a course for action (COM(2022) 236) together with the Government position [mtg no. 197],
- information of the Council of Ministers on the Foreign Affairs Council meeting planned for 20 February 2023 [mtg no. 198],
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders, considered:
- proposal for a Council regulation Enhancing solidarity through better coordination of gas purchases, exchanges of gas across borders and reliable price benchmarks (COM(2022) 549) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 197],
- proposal for a Council regulation laying down a framework to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy (COM(2022) 591) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 197],
- proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on standards for equality bodies in the field of equal treatment and equal opportunities between women and men in matters of employment and occupation, and deleting Article 20 of Directive 2006/54/EC and Article 11 of Directive 2010/41/E (COM(2022) 688) as well as proposal for a Council directive on standards for equality bodies in the field of equal treatment between persons irrespective of their racial or ethnic origin, equal treatment in the field of employment and occupation between persons irrespective of their religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation, equal treatment between women and men in matters of social security and in the access to and supply of goods and services, and deleting Article 13 of Directive 2000/43/EC and Article 12 of Directive 2004/113/EC (COM(2022) 689), together with the draft positions of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 198],
- proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a common framework for media services in the internal market (European Media Freedom Act) and amending Directive 2010/13/EU (COM(2022) 457) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 198],
- pursuant to Art. 10(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
- proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on shipments of waste and amending Regulations (EU) No 1257/2013 and (EU) No 2020/1056 (COM(2021) 709) together with the Government information relating to it [mtg no. 197],
- according to the proposal of the Committee Bureau, didn't raise any comment to the following EU documents:
- pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act – to 3 draft legal acts:: COM(2023) 4, 6, 23 [mtg no. 198],
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Standing Orders of the Sejm and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act – to 8 documents: COM(2023) 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 32; C(2023) 39 [mtg no. 198],
- considered [mtg no. 198]:
- the Committee Bureau proposal to establish a permanent sub-committee,
- proposals for scrutiny topics to be included in the 2024 work programme of the Supreme Audit Office,
- information of the Committee Chair on the delegation of the Bureaus of the EU Affairs Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee in Chisinau, 16-18 January 2023.
