EUROPEAN DEBATES IN THE SEJM

13 April 2023, the Sejm held the debate on the information of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the tasks of the Polish foreign policy in 2023; the Sejm acknowledged the information (verbatim record/PL, point 16).

14 April 2023, the Sejm adopted the resolution on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on methane emissions reduction in the energy sector - resolution (debate on the draft resolution: verbatim record/PL, point 43, papers no. 3173, 3174).

14 April 2023, the Sejm adopted the resolution on the defence of the Polish forests - resolution (debate on the draft resolution: verbatim record/PL, point 24, papers no. 3104, 3134).

    • proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive (EU) 2015/413 facilitating cross-border exchange of information on road-safety-related traffic offences (COM(2023) 126) [mtg no. 215],
  • pursuant to Art. 11(1) of the Cooperation Act, considered information on the position the Council of Ministers intends to take during consideration of draft EU legal acts at the meetings of:

  • pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:

  • pursuant to Art. 18(4) of the Cooperation Act considered the information on legislative work related to the implementation of EU directives, for which the time limit for implementation had expired or would expire within 3 months of the presentation of such information (as at 24 February 2023) [mtg no. 210],
  • heard the information on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the reduction of methane emissions in the energy sector and amending Regulation (EU) 2019/924 [mtg no. 211],
  • held the first reading of the committee's draft resolution concerning proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the reduction of methane emissions in the energy sector (paper no. 3173) [mtg no. 212],
  • considered and adopted the desideratum addressed to the Minister for EU Affairs on reforming the operation of the European Union institutions in terms of increasing the openness and transparency of their functioning [mtg no. 213],
  • heard the information on the study visit of the EU Affairs Committee in Brussels, 20-23 March 2023, presented by the Committee Chair Kacper Płażyński {mtg no. 215],
  • heard the information of the Deputy Sylwester Tułajew on the participation in the meeting of the Common Foreign and Security Policy Interparliamentary Conference held in Stockholm, 2-3 March 2023 [mtg no. 215],
  • heard the information of the Deputy Agnieszka Soin on the participation in the meeting of the EP Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, Brussels, 1 March 2023 [mtg no. 215],
  • together with the committees on Maritime Economy and Inland Water Transport as well as on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry heard the information on:
    • the state of implementation of the European Green Deal in the light of Russian aggression on Ukraine, as well as on economic and energy crisis;
    • activities of the European Commission concerning new package for fisheries and oceans [mtg no. 216].

WORK IN COMMITTEES

Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry Committee
12.04.2023, heard the information of the Minister for Climate and Environment on the implementation of the judgment of the Court of Justice of the EU of 2 March 2023 in case C-432/21 - a complaint for a declaration, pursuant to Art. 258 TFEU, of the infringement of a Member State's obligations, brought on 15 July 2021 by the European Commission against the Republic of Poland;


13.04.2023, considered the information on the planned financing of the activities in the scope of environmental protection from national Recovery and Resilience Plan as well as from the programme European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2012-2027 (FEnIKS).
