In January 2012 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 12 meetings: no. 10-21. During these meetings the Committee:

• scrutinised 124 EU documents;
• adopted three opinions concerning EU documents (opinions no. 4, 5 and 6),
• together with Foreign Affairs Committee held the first reading of the governmental bill on the ratification of European Council Decision no. 2011/199/EU of 25 March 2011 amending Article 136 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union with regard to a stability mechanism for Member States whose currency is the euro (paper no. 37, meeting no. 12),
• heard information on the election of new authorities of European Parliament presented by Jacek Protasiewicz, EP Vice-President (meeting no. 16),
• together with Innovation and New Technologies Committee and Culture ans Media Committee heard information on consequences of signing by Poland  Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement between the European Union and its Member States, Australia, Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the UnitedMexican States, the Kingdom of Morocco, New Zealand, the Republic of Singapore, the Swiss Confederation and the United States of America (ACTA), presented by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Administration and Digitalization (meeting no. 17),
• together with Foreign Affairs Committee held a meeting with the representative of the Danish Presidency of the EU Council, ambassador of Denmark Thomas Ostrup Moller and heard the information on the  programme of the Danish Presidency (meeting no. 19),
• heard the information on the realisation of the EU budget in 2010 presented by Augustyn Kubik, member of the Court of Auditors (meeting no. 21).

SUBSIDIARITY SCRUTINY

• COM(2011) 706 wersja ostateczna - deadline for scrutiny: 24.01.2012
  Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing an action programme for customs and taxation in the European Union for the period 2014-2020 (FISCUS) and repealing Decisions No. 1482/2007/EC and No. 624/2007/EC) - deadline for scrutiny was 24.01.2012
  • On 12.01.2012, at the 13th meeting, the EU Affairs Committee held the first reading of the deputies' draft resolution (paper no. 116) resolution containing reasoned opinion on the non-compliance with the principle of subsidiarity of COM(2011) 706.
  • On 13.01.2012, at the 5th sitting of the Sejm, draft resolution - at the request of the Committee - has been rejected at second reading .

• COM(2011) 560 wersja ostateczna - deadline for scrutiny: 14.11.2011
  Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EC) No 562/2006 in order to provide for common rules on the temporary reintroduction of border control at internal borders in exceptional circumstances
  • On 13.01.2012, at the 14th meeting, the EU Affairs Committee adopted opinion no. 5 on the non-compliance with the principle of subsidiarity of COM(2011) 560 final.
