In September 2012 the EU Affaires Committee (SUE) held 9 meetings: no. 69-77. During these meetings the Committee:

• scrutinised 47 EU documents,
• adopted two opinions concerning EU documents (no. 22 and 23),
• together with the Foreign Affaires Committee heard information on the summary of Danish Presidency of the EU Council and on the programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the EU Council. The Committee also met with Charge d'Affaires od the Kingdom of Denmark, Erik Rasmussen and with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, Andreas Zenonos (meeting no. 72),
• considered information on the Republic of Poland participation in the work of the European Union in the period January-June 2012 (paper no. 680) (meeting no. 74),
• considered information on legislative work related to the implementation of EU directives for which the transposition deadline has expired or will expire within the next three months (as of 30.07.2012), presented by the representatives of appropriate ministries (meeting no. 76),
• together with the Foreign Affaires Committee heard Foreign Affaires Minister information on Eastern Partnership (meeting no. 77).

SUBSIDIARITY SCRUTINY

On 26 September 2012, at the 75th meeting, the EU Affaires Committee adopted opinion no. 23 on the non-compliance with the principle of subsidiarity of COM(2012) 372 final.

On 21 September 2012, at the 73rd meeting, the EU Affaires Committee held first reading of the committee draft resolution on declaring COM(2012) 369 to be incompatible with the principle of subsidiarity (paper no. 710)
