In June 2013 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 9 meetings: no. 160-168. During these meetings the Committee:
- scrutinised 106 EU documents;
- adoped one opinion concerning EU document (opinion no. 36);
- together with Public Finance Committee and Economic Committee heard the information on recommendations for Poland concerning the implementation of European Semester in 2013, presented by Janusz Lewandowski, Commissioner for Financial Programming and Budget, Jacek Dominik, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Finance and Grażyna Henclewska, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economy (mtg no. 160);
- heard the information on the functioning and implementation of the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union (so called Fiscal Pact), presented by Jacek Dominik, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Finance and Artur Nowak-Far, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affaires (mtg no. 161);
- met with Ivan Del Vechio, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, on the occasion of the accession of Croatia to the EU, 1.07.2013 (mtg no. 166);
- considered draft EU Affairs Committee's action plan for 1.07.2013 - 31.12.2013 (mtg no. 167).

- 12.06.2013, Agriculture and Rural Development Committee heard: the information of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on participation in the work of the Council in May 2013, including the information on the documents COM(2013) 226 and COM(2013) 159 (mtg no. 111); the information of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on decision of the European Commission and on the ongoing administrative proceedings to exclude Common Agricultural Policy from the financing from UE funds (mtg no. 112);
- 12.06.2013, Administration and Digitization Committee heard the information on preparation and adoption of the National Broadband Plan, i.a. in the context of the EU broadband programmes and new financial perspective (mtg no. 23);
- 13.06.2013, Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry Committee considered and adopted the information of the Supreme Audit Office on the results of audit of compliance with the selected provisions of the the EU regulation on shipments of waste (mtg no. 76);
- 13.06.2013, Administration and Digitization Committee heard i.a. the information on the implementation of projects under the priority axis 7 and 8 of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme (mtg no. 24);
- 19.06.2013, Innovation and New Technologies Committee considered the information of the Ministry of Regional Development on the proposed directions of supporting innovation, research and development and supporting of information society in the period 2014-2020 (co-financing from Structural Funds, mtg no. 77);
- 20.06.2013, Agriculture and Rural Development Committee took note of the information of the Ministry of Regional Development and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the preparation of the Partnership Agreement and information on Operational Programmes prepared under the Cohesion Policy (mtg no. 119).

Controversy between the European Parliament and the Council over Schengen evaluation mechanism
On 12 June 2013 the EP approved compromise draft Council regulation on the establishment of the Schengen evaluation mechanism. Although the draft is based on the Article 70 TfEU (Council decision), it has been negotiated with the EP and includes the vast majority of amendments tabled by the Parliament. In the draft’s preamble and in the joint statement by the Parliament, the Council and the Commission, the participation of the Parliament in any future amending of the evaluation mechanism has been ensured.
Accession of Croatia to the European Union
On 1 July 2013 Republic of Croatia became 28th Member State of the European Union. The accession will influence the functioning of the Union institutions, including voting in the Council, composition of the European Parliament and the Commission.
Common European Asylum System (CEAS)
In June 2013 directives and regulations creating Common European Asylum System have been adopted. The CEAS aims at establishing common asylum procedure and a uniform status for persons granted asylum.
