EU DOCUMENTS IN THE SEJM |

In June 2014 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 7 meetings: no. 257-263. During these meetings the Committee:
- scrutinised 62 EU documents:
- pursuant to Art. 7(4) of the Cooperation Act – 4 EU draft legislative acts concerning regulation on appliances burning gaseous fuels and draft codifications of regulations on the safeguard measures provided for in the Agreement between the European Economic Community and the Republic of Iceland, the Swiss Confederation and the Kingdom of Norway. SUE didn't raise any objections about subsidiarity principle with regards to those 4 draft acts,
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act – 27 European Commission documents (10 communications, 8 reports, 1 joint report and 8 opinions) concerning ia. long-term financing of the European economy, implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive or European Energy Security Strategy,
- pursuant to Art. 11(1) of the Cooperation Act – EU documents, which were to be discussed by Economic and Financial Affairs Council, Agriculture and Fisheries Council and Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council,
- pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act – 14 EU draft legal acts concerning ia. conclusion of a Common Aviation Area Agreement between the European Union and its Member States and Ukraine or management of autonomous tariff quotas of the Union for certain agricultural and industrial products,
- adopted opinion no. 51 concerning draft regulation of the EP and the Council laying down a prohibition on driftnet fisheries, COM(2014) 265 (mtg no. 262),
- gave a positive opinion on the candidatures of: (mtg no. 262):
- Mr Michał Modrzejewski for the member of the European Economic and Social Committee until the end of the term of office in 2015 (opinion no. 54),
- Mr Jacek Dominik for the member of the European Commission until the end of the 2009-2014 term of office (opinion no. 55),
- together with Public Finance Committee and Economic Committee heard the information on recommendations for Poland concerning the implementation of European Semester in 2014, presented by Janusz Lewandowski, Commissioner for Financial Programming and Budget, and Undersecretaries of State in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy (mtg no. 257),
- together with Local Government and Regional Policy Committee established a special subcommittee to consider the Government's bill on principles of realization of cohesion policy programmes financed within the EU financial perspective 2014-2020 (paper no. 2450, mtg no. 261).

- the following acts implementing EU law have been adopted [paper no.]:

- Act of 26 June 2014 on some agreements concluded in connection with the performance of contracts of primary importance for security of the State [2167],
- Act of 26 June 2014 amending the act the act on granting protection to aliens within the territory of the Republic of Poland and some other acts [2243],
- Act of 26 June 2014 amending the act on corporate income tax, act on personal income tax and some other acts [2330],
- Act of 10 June 2014 amending the act - Environmental law and some other acts [2162],
- Act of 10 June 2014 amending the act - Geological and Mining Law and some other acts [2352],
- Act of 10 June 2014 amending the act on accounting [2245].
- the following acts implementing EU law have been published [paper no.]:

- Act of 30 May 2014 on consumer rights [2076].

In June 2014, 7 draft legislative acts were subject to subsidiarity scrutiny. As of 3 July 2014, the national parliaments submitted in June 2 reasoned opinions on the non-compliance of these draft acts with the subsidiarity principle.
