EUROPEAN DEBATES IN THE SEJM |

On 21 July 2016 the Sejm heard the information of the Prime Minister on the result of the United Kingdom referendum on membership of the European Union and held the debate (verbatim record/PL point 25). |

EU DOCUMENTS IN THE SEJM |
|
|
|
|
|
In July and August 2016 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 6 meetings: no. 67-72. During these meetings the Committee:
- scrutinised 72 EU documents:
- pursuant to Art. 7(4) of the Cooperation Act – 14 EU draft legislative acts concerning i.a. safety rules and standards for passenger ships, cooperation between national authorities responsible for the enforcement of consumer protection laws or Union action for the European Capitals of Culture for the years 2020 to 2033,
- pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act – 33 EC documents (18 communications, 14 reports and 1 joint communication) concerning i.a. final evaluation of the multi-annual EU programme on protecting children using the Internet and other communication technologies (Safer Internet), delivering the single market agenda for jobs, growth and investment or European standards for the 21st century,
- pursuant to Art. 11(1) of the Cooperation Act – EU documents, which were to be discussed by Economic and Financial Affairs Council and Agriculture and Fisheries Council,
- pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act – 21 EU draft legal acts concerning i.a. the accession of selected countries to the 1980 Hague Convention, opening and providing for the management of autonomous Union tariff quotas for certain fishery products for the period 2016 to 2018 or the conclusion of the enhanced partnership and cooperation agreement between the EU and its Member States and the Republic of Kazakhstan,
- heard information on legal and political consequences of the result of referendum in Great Britain, presented by Witold Waszczykowski, Minister of Foreign Affairs (mtg no. 68),
- considered Government's information on the Republic of Poland's participation in the activities of the European Union in the period January-June 2016 during Dutch Presidency (paper no. 712, mtg no. 70),
- met with the chargé d'affaires of the Netherlands Adriaan Palm and heard information on the results of Dutch Presidency of the EU Council; met with the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Dušan Krištofík and heard information on the programme of the Slovak Presidency of the EU Council (mtg no. 71).

19.07.2016, considered the draft of the desideratum on the Poland's complaints to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for infringement of the rights of Polish families outside Poland; Committee adopted the desideratum addressed to the Prime Minister on the Poland's complaints to the ECHR (mtg no. 31).
