The first meeting took place in April 1995 in Strasbourg, upon invitation from the President of the European Parliament, Klaus Haensch. Since that time, such meetings were held twice a year. They were devoted to discussions on the role of parliamentary dialogue in the structures of the European Union and in the process of its enlargement, to analysing the tasks of the joint parliamentary committees, the current problems of the European Union and of the associated countries.

The last meeting took place on 4 February 2004 in Budapest.
