EU DOCUMENTS IN THE SEJM

In January 2021 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 4 meetings, no. 43-46, via electronic means of distance communication. During these meetings the Committee:

  • pursuant to Art. 7(4) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council on a reinforced role for the European Medicines Agency in crisis preparedness and management for medicinal products and medical devices (COM(2020) 725, together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 43], and adopted the conclusions [mtg no. 45],

    • proposal for a directive of the EP and of the Council amending Directives 2006/43/EC, 2009/65/EC, 2009/138/EU, 2011/61/EU, EU/2013/36, 2014/65/EU, (EU) 2015/2366 and EU/2016/2341 (COM(2020) 596), together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 44],
    • Proposal for a Council directive amending Directive 2006/112/EC as regards conferral of implementing powers to the Commission to determine the meaning of the terms used in certain provisions of that Directive (COM(2020) 749), together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 44],
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council on serious cross-border threats to health and repealing Decision No 1082/2013/EU (COM(2020) 727), together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 45],
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council concerning batteries and waste batteries, repealing Directive 2006/66/EC and amending Regulation (EU) No 2019/1020 (COM(2020) 798), together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 46],
  • pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • report from the Commission: Kick-starting the journey towards a climate-neutral Europe by 2050. EU Climate Action Progress Report 2020 (COM(2020) 777), together with the Government position [mtg no. 45],
    • communication from the Commission: 2020 Strategic Foresight Report. Strategic foresight – charting the course towards a more resilient Europe (COM(2020) 493), together with the Government position [mtg no. 46],
    • communication from the Commission: Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy 2021 (COM(2020) 575), together with the Government position [mtg no. 46],
    • communication from the Commission: Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability. Towards a Toxic-Free Environment (COM(2020) 667), together with the Government position [mtg no. 46],
    • report from the Commission: 2020 assessment of the progress made by Member States towards the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU and towards the deployment of nearly zero-energy buildings and cost-optimal minimum energy performance requirements in the EU in accordance with the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2010/31/EU (COM(2020) 954), together with the Government position [mtg no. 46],
  • according to the proposal of the Committee Bureau, didn't raise any comment to the following EU documents:
