EUROPEAN DEBATES IN THE SEJM

7 March 2024, the Sejm accepted the Council of Ministers' information on the Republic of Poland's participation in the activities of the European Union in July-December 2023 (Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union) - resolution. The information was earlier debated in plenary with participation of the Minister for EU Affairs, Adam Szłapka (verbatim record/PL, point 14).

7 March 2024, the Sejm held the debate (verbatim record/PL. point 9) and adopted the resolution on the imposition of sanctions in connection with the import of Russian and Belarusian food and agricultural products into the European Union.

    • proposal for a Council directive amending Directive (EU) 2015/637 on the coordination and cooperation measures to facilitate consular protection for unrepresented citizens of the Union in third countries and Directive (EU) 2019/997 establishing an EU Emergency Travel Document (COM(2023) 930) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 19],
    • proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the welfare of dogs and cats and their traceability (COM(2023) 769) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 19],
    • amended proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a mechanism to resolve legal and administrative obstacles in a cross-border context (COM(2023) 790) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 19],
    • proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of animals during transport and related operations, amending Council Regulation (EC) No 1255/97 and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 (COM(2023) 770) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 20],
    • proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on temporary trade-liberalisation measures supplementing trade concessions applicable to Ukrainian products under the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and Ukraine, of the other part (COM(2024) 50 together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 20, 21],

  • 07.03.2024, considered the information of the Minister of Digitalisation on the co-financing, in the 2021-2027 Financial Perspective, of the construction of broadband networks in the areas of the so-called white spots [mtg no. 9].
Maritime Economy and Inland Water Transport Committee
  • 20.03.2024. considered the information on the implementation of the OP Fish 2014-2020 and the Programme European Funds for Fisheries - first axis for 2021-2027, including means transferred directly to Polish fishermen and fishing producer groups operating in Poland [mtg no. 13].

Justice and Human Rights Committee
  • 07.03.2024, appointed Permanent sub-committee on Poland's implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and of the Court of Justice of the European Union [mtg no. 12].
