Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol, that is the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation, (JPSG) politically monitors Europol's activities in fulfilling its mission, including as regards the impact of these activities on the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons. It was established pursuant to Article 51 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/794 on Europol by the Conference of Speakers of the EU Parliaments, which in its conclusions of 2016 and 2017 determined the organization of this Group and the principles of its rules of procedure. The JPSG rules of procedure were adopted at the second meeting of the Group, on 19 March 2018 in Sofia (amendments: Brussels 2019 and 2021, Ghent 2024).
The JPSG is presided jointly by the Parliament of the country holding the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament.
The Polish Sejm is represented in JPSG by two Deputies.
