Since Poland’s accession to the European Union cooperation of parliaments of the Visegrád Group countries, ie the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Czech Republic, the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland, the National Council of the Slovak Republic and the National Assembly of Hungary, has been conducted in two forms. These are meetings of the presidents of parliaments and meetings of the specialised committees. They provide a forum for exchanging best practices in matters connected with membership in the European Union as well as give an opportunity to exchange views on current issues, to coordinate positions and to take common initiatives.
